FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR

Thanks for your interest in music and worship at Grace Union Church.  There are many opportunities for participation.  Grace Union Church has a very strong music program of which we are very proud.  Music is a major component of our Sunday morning worship experience.  Please browse this page to learn more about some of the things going on in our Congregation.

CHANCEL CHOIR

The Chancel Choir consists of mixed voices singing a wide variety of music in one to six vocal parts.  The Chancel Choir sings almost every Sunday from September through June.  Rehearsals follow the Sunday worship service.  Music reading skill is not required, but it is helpful if one has a musical ear and has had some choral singing experience.  Please come join this faithful group of singers for laughter and hard work.  All are welcome.

SPECIAL MUSICAL EVENTS

On a regular basis the church hosts and participates in special musical events.  A recent Sunday afternoon event at the church featured our talented organist and our guest flutist in a stirring two hour musical program.  Our choir also offers special programs in conjunction with local vocal groups.

CHURCH SCHOOL MUSIC

With the help of able volunteers, all church school children have an opportunity each Sunday to learn and memorize many of the songs that accompany the children's curriculum for the church year.  Sometimes the singing is accompanied by other instruments or dancing or signing the lyrics.  About every six weeks the children and leaders from the church school lead the congregation in movement and singing during worship.
